MegaBass Travel rods. the Triza

I have started since last year fishing Oklahoma for Striper with my brother.  and his friends.

I HATE flying for full length rods.  up until now, I used borrowed rods, and would only bring my reels in my carry-on.  I started looking at travel rods, and stumbled across the Triza series.  I handled one.  dude in a bass boat uses one as a regular rod.  he loves the thing.

I want a spinning and a bait caster.  it would be sick to carry on two rods for my annual trips.   I bring a cheapo travel rod to most vacations.  an UL setup.  the guys in Peru suggested I dont cast into their rivers with such a tiny rod.  a heavier set up would be awesome.  there is a lake near my inlays in Taipei, I swear I think have LMB in it.  I saw one I think.  nothing a Tex rig worm won't figure out.  hahah.

well?  I have been packing my lunches trying to save up some money..  MegaBass...geez.  what a slippery slope.

Mega Bass makes a nice rod.  The fit and finish is probably the best in the business.
I've fished the Levante and Destroyers a bunch and they have some models that I wonder what all the fuss is about and some that are exceptional.
The Braillist and Whipsnake come to mind.

I bought a Dragoon!   Megabass Triza line. I'm gonna try it on a striper when I get home.

I've heard good things about the St Croix triumph travel rods. 4pc set up w several spinning options but only 1 baitcasting option.

I lucked out big time.  I bought it from the HookUp Tackle.  I walked into their store on a road trip.  (wife was eye rolling the entire time).  the store does Youtube videos and they used the rod for a demo.  I got it for a HUGE discount.  they are the coolest group of guys.  everyone was a rabid fishing fanatic.  you could feel it in the air.  there is no way I would/could pay full retail.

I used it for a week.  It's light. It's powerful. Great backbone.  Flings a 3/4 lure against the wind really well.  It can steer a big fish really well. 

If I had more money I would buy another one. But nope.
