32nd year begins

The Ranger is now in the driveway getting ready for a full compliment of spring service.  This will be the 32nd year of service for the old girl.  The process is starting with a full battery charge that is currently underway.  Next step will be the hubs and brake system.  The third phase will be to check all of the filters and then start the motor for a short time on the muffs.  I will pull the plugs after a short run cycle and then do a compression check just to see if anything has changed from last fall.  If everything checks out then a complete cleaning of the boat, trailer and carpets and we should be good to go.  I am considering selling the Ranger but my heart is just not in it even though it would be the right thing to do.  It is interesting how attached one can get to these old boats that just happen to be full of so many memories.  I don't anticipate any problems with the boat other than a bilge pump or something like that.  The Johnson Fast Strike ran like a new one last fall but we all know how things can change.

Time sure flies by doesn't it?  32 yrs of having the Ranger.  I really like that style of that Ranger Boat.  You got yourself a really nice looking boat there.   That trailer you got is a gem also.  You have fun getting it ready for the upcoming season.  Just a thought here maybe you should hang onto the Ranger through this Summer.  If you don't get to use it that much by then, then sell it this Fall.

I've had my Stratos now for 14yrs. it sure doesn't seem that long ago that I bought it.  I need to do the same thing to my Stratos.  But with the lakes in the extreme low water conditions (ones I fish near home here) I'm in no hurry to work on them.
