Fished the old farts tournament Wednesday without any prefish. Started up the lake in the shallows and the shad spawn was going on strong but the bass were so keyed on them you couldn't buy a bite. I did manage three little twelve inchers before the sun broke on a torpedo.

After the sun got up things heated up. Anywhere I could find shallow wood cover, I'm talking inches, I could catch a decent bass on a frog. I probably caught over twenty, missed several, and dumped a couple to include one pushing 8 pounds that hit me at the boat and I just couldn't do anything with her.

I ended up with 17 pounds 10 ounces for a win and got big bass at 5.95. Had a blast!!!

Nice! A shame that big one hit so close. Would've been fun getting that one in.
Congrats on the win.  ~c~

Mike,  What is your go to frog bait that you use?  I need to restock on a few.

Mike Cork

I have used a bunch and always go back to a regular Spro Frog
