Fished on 10/20/22.  This was a team tournament with a 7 fish per team limit.  Catching 7 fish was pretty easy for all 7 teams.  Catching good quality fish was difficult.  Our winners Robbie & John had 7 for 12.1 pounds and also the big fish, a 3.10# spotted bass.  My 87 year old partner Al and I had 10.85# for second place.  We had 7 clones between 14.5 and 15 inches long, I calculated it at 1.55 pounds average.  We probably caught 7-10 more that same size.  Others had between 9 and 10.5 pounds for 7 fish.  Most of the fish came on soft plastics or hula grubs in the 10 to 20 feet of water.  The big fish came on a Zara Spook first thing in the morning.  We are running out of decent lakes to fish due to low water conditions.  But at least the bite at Lake Oroville is still good for numbers if not size.  Weather is cooling and the crankbait, jerkbait and A-Rig bites should be coming on.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

Thanks for the report Pat and congrats on the second place finish.

Sounds like you all need some heavy rains for a few days. Hopefully the water conditions will improve for you quickly.

Sounds like a good day catching!! And to get 2d as well is a bonus! Props to your partner for being 87 and still getting after it!

He really is an inspiration.  Has me looking forward to many more years of fishing.  Plus he sings along with the radio on the way to the lake.  :)
