Is it an evil plan or simple humor?

Why is a dogs tail just long enough that a dog can see it back there, but just short enough that he/she can't catch it?

My hundred pound pit will chase his tail daily and I can't figure out if its torture for the dog or a plan to make man kind smile once in a while?

I miss being able to have a dog. When I was growing up we had a black lab/cocker spaniel mix that used to chase his tail like that. Eventually he grew out of it or just got tired of not getting what he was after. Still was really funny as a kid to watch him do it.

Turned out to be one hell of a hunting dog though.

Don't know. I've been chasing MY tail for years, and it doesn't make me smile. Not at all.

You have to much time!!!!!
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?
