Launched from Washington County Park 0600, air temperature 33° (was supposed to be 38° ::) ). Surface temperature 53°. Water was stained with 2'-3' visibility and typical 8mph winds. Locals were expecting the Bass to be on bed today, but the past couple mornings of near freezing temps have sent them back down. Couldn't find a bite on the Tennessee side so we headed to Virginia and up the river. As air temperatures reached 70 and the surface temps reached to 58° my Lucky Craft Pointer and Dobyns Champion XP 684CB put a decent 2lb Smallie in the boat while my back seater picked up a dink and a 1 1/2 pound smallies. With 8 hours in on the water, we called it a day and headed home.
