This is probably an easy one...but what are the 1 or 2 best rods for skipping weightless wacky 4" senkos under docks and brush? I am assuming spinning rod, but it doesnt have to be. I might also try to skip some small jigs (3/8 and under). I've been looking at both 2 and 3 powers. I want to drop/flip it into downed trees as well. Never over 15 feet of water and usually 8-10. I would like to stay in the sierra, Kaden, champion series. Any suggestions on a reel? Im just learning to skip. Is the tatula sv tws needed? It is well recommended.

Lots of info in one shot here but I'll say this...

Go with the highest series in the line up to gain the most sensitivity because you are dealing with feel baits. Because you are also going to be flipping a bait into cover occasionally I'd highly suggest the 3 power. A 733 is a great rod for skipping lighter baits IMO lots of tip to load and send the bait with some energy.

As far as reels the tat is a good one but, if you want an amazing skipping reel get the Shimano SLX DC. Yes I'm partial to Shimano.

Thanks Mike. I will give the 743 a try. I've had a shaky head tied on mine for a while. Is the 733 champ very similar or is the extreme noticeable faster.

I have mostly all lews reels but was looking at the daiwa. I'll check out the shimano.

I believe it is Lews that just designed a reel for skipping? I could be way off, I get lost in the advertising these days.

I do feel the Extreme rods are noticeably faster.
