I'm trying to get a little more information on a vintage rod that I inherited a while back.  It is a Browning Gold Medallion (pics attached) graphite baitcasting rod.  It is quite solid at 7 ft, 6".  It looks and feels like a Heavy power rod with a very fast tip.  I don't really need specs to confirm it is a stout rod, but it would be nice to know what it was designed for.  It feels to me like a good candidate for a Frog Stick.  I'm going to try it, but thought I could get some outside comments.  Does anyone know anything about these older Browning rods and/or can point me to where to get some more info?

With those specs I would think it's probably a flippin' stick. I believe at one time Browning fishing was a standalone brand. I can only remember them being sold at Bass Pro shops.
The old Silaflex was popular for crankbaits. If memory serves David Fritts used them back it the day.

I have a 20+ year old 7'6" telescoping Browning Vectra flippin'stick. 3/8-2oz, 15-30lb line.
I'm using it for a swimbait rod right now. Still in good shape even after 20 years of neglect and abuse.

Thanks, to both!  I'll pick up a reel soon and try it out with Frogs and Flippin'.

It's rated to 2oz so that's def a Heavy/Extra heavy action.

One of my first bait caster combos 12 years ago was a Browning rod combo purchased at Bass Pro. Was a good rod.
