Got to the lake right after daybreak. Water temp ranged from 65-67 on my gauges. Sun never really came out so the lake didn't warm much.

Fished with a beetle spin until about 1 pm. 25 which perch from just fillet-able to 2 pounds. Let a couple smaller ones swim for seed and hit a couple bass up chasing fry around.

Lots of people out there chasing the shallow perch around. Seen one guy using shiners that was catching quality perch hand over fist.

I just ran shallow banks and when I would catch one I'd pole down and cast to the same spot and catch one or 4 more.

Tks for sharing the trip with us and congrats on the catching also.  So what rod combo do you use for those beetle spins?

I like a 2 power and a Shimano spinning reel. Dobyns 702 and a Shimano Spirex 2000.
