A New Gambler Topic

So these seem to be some super well-made boats, and have recently received a rejuvenation of sorts with new owners and a new outlook.

In all my years around bass boats, including selling them for a living, I had very little to do with any Gamblers. Like I said, I don't think quality was ever an issue with them. There's a 20 footer down the road a ways, a 1999 I believe. It's a little ugly of course, and the motor is pretty much junk. It would require a facelift, which I'm fine with. The trailer is actually in pretty good shape, although of course it would need gone through as well (I think this thing set on a lift most of it's life so the trailer saw little use). I would outfit it with a new Merc, controls, gauges, etc. A complete go-thru.

So, Gambler guys (is there anyone out there, echo, echo, echo). What am I looking at here for issues? I'd check the transom first thing, but what else? Thanks in advance.

Dale, I've fished from a Gambler. Small rear deck and not good in the waves. The quality was good but, with your back. I would wave good-bye and let it sit. JMO

I fished out of that very model when it was new many times. My good friend had one. Couldn't keep a hat on even if you were holding it. But I have to echo the hard on the body, in 99 I could take anything, but I now have a phantom crushed T2 Vertebrae I found out about a couple years ago, I suspect it was from those days.

I personally loved the boat at the time. To the boats favor, there was never a problem with the hull, even with those rough water beatings.

Now a Legend isn't the fastest but I can certainly attest to the ride! 1970's Cadillac kinda ride

But if you can't trust the guy.... B.O.A.T. can wear a man out....
