Cross lake DD!! 6 Mar 22

Caught my new PB and First DD yesterday!! She weighed 11.89lbs and was caught off of a bed with a chartreuse fluke. She had 3 males with her too and was the aggressive one kinda came out of nowhere as the males didn't want to bite. The fight was crazy she went under the boat and around my Talon and I'm glad I was using braid! Dobyns 734 Champion rod handled her surges well and the Mustad hook held. Also I kept liberally applying some crawfish scent made by a friend in Texas every few casts to help cover any bad scents I had. Water temps were in the upper 60s and I was in a small protected pocket on the north shoreline. Lots of males up and several other beds and I covered a lot of water before finding the big girls spot. Sun kept playing peek a boo so having a really visible bait sure helped me see.

So so so happy that after almost 39 years I Finally have my DD and new PB!!!
