Randy Howell catches two over ten in the event. Today he catches a 12-14 on Bussy Brake...

The eights and nines these guys caught is amazing...

If you didn't watch it live, there is a lot to be learned bout D Arboone, Caney, and Bussy Brake in the coverages.

Then the guy that catches the 10-11 bounces to Bussy and catches a 12-11 two fish of a lifetime for any of us and he does it in back to back days...

I wasn't able to watch but I saw the post on Randy Howell's FB page about his 2 giants. Said they were his 2 biggest bass ever.

Crazy.  I bet you can walk across boat decks at Bussey today.

That's no doubt and it's a tiny little lake...

I believe Randy's fish was a MLF record as well.

Was amazing event and under very tough post front cold conditions.  Watching some of the best fishermen in the world blank or just catch one fish certainly makes me feel a little better when I have a tough day!  Would love to see what would happen if they fished there a month or so later.  I also like that they are not just fishing "the usual places."
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

Bud Kennedy

The video of Randy's 12-4 also included a swab of the fish's mouth.  What is that all about?

Pat Dilling

They explained that they were swabbing the mouths of all the big fish so they can analyze the DNA. They want to determine the percentage Florida strain vs Northern strain. Helps them determine the success of planting the Florida strain.  Just one more duty for the boat official  ;D

It seems like every time they come to Louisiana they have bad weather. Jacob Wheeler posted a video of his practice day and said it was the coldest practice day he has ever had. The water temps were in the mid 40s and they were fishing post frontal conditions. I would hate to see what they would have caught had that major front not come through.

You're not kidding there. If they could catch some decent conditions it would be lights out. I can't imagine what Bussy Brake would have produced. But it might backfire as well, if every fish in the lake was eating they might have spent more time unhooking and weighing 3 pounders, but I guess in the MLF format that would be huge too.

There's MLF app that you can download on your phone or tablet. From there you can cast to a smart TV and watch all the action live. From bassmaster.com as well. You can literally lose weeks.

I was at Headwaters Saturday and there was a young angler sitting in his boat watching the St. John's Elite weigh in. We both agreed that Lowrance and Hummingbird need to add streaming capability to their big screens. In my case at least I could see a fish now and then

That's funny cause I was fishing and had it going on my phone and listening with my bluetooth, every time I heard "It's a big one" I stopped and pulled my phone out LOL

with the USB port in the new boat, I can run the Kindle/tablet... options...  most boats also have the 12-volt outlet that you can use an adapter for USB connection.

I totally forgot about the two 12 V ports I have at the bow. I'll have a tablet plugged in for the next one :-*
