Steve thanks for the memories always entertaining.  It just goes to show how dangerous the job can get with bullets flying bye.  Thanks again!

I know I shouldn't laugh, but I did at the end. It reminded me of a few similar situations I found myself in and we both got lucky enough to walk away...well not with clean underwear anyways.

Not how I expected the story to turn out.

I've known a few Game Wardens throughout my life. Over the course of a year, Game Wardens generally have more encounters with armed individuals than any other branch of law enforcement. Add to that, some of those are impaired by either drugs or alcohol, and some are just badasses willing to fight. While the Game Warden's office is the most spacious and beautiful on the planet, nature itself has it's hazards as well.
Thank you again for your service, love the stories.

Glad you made out with nothing more than a few more gray hairs and a story to tell. You guys earn all the pay you get and then some, not a job for everybody.

All I can think of is that song... "Armadillos keep digging... little holes in my backyard".

I guess I will never hide in tall grass in armadillo country!  Good thing he was a bad shot!
