Sorry to report I do not know. Haven't fished in a month. Ramps are starting to ice in and my boat is 1500 miles away. Starting to get the shakes lol

Heck Yeah! I talked with friends this morning and water temp is 65 degrees at LOZ. That is late October temp and here it is mid-December. They were fishing for crappie and each caught a limit in under 2 hours. Guys are filling their freezers with crappie for winter and will fish bass soon.

Bass fishin' sucks on the reservoirs right now. We need another 5-8 (or 10) degrees to fall off that water temp. But like Wiz said, the crappie are freaking out, everywhere. My pond fish the other day however were completely cool. I have a video up on the YT that proves it.

Actually if you can find them you can load the boat here, it's been a few years since I've fished this late into the season, cold weather and arthritis don't mix well.

Northern CA Reservoirs have water temps in the mid 50s.  Crankbait bite has slowed way down.  Soft plastics are still producing great fishing days.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

sorry 'bout that Zippy.  (and all you guys who live up north).  know you can drill holes, but that was never my thing.
water temps last saturday were 56°F...  they're feeding here too.

if it gets 'real cold' here, water temps get down close to 40°F.  that sets up a good spring with a huge shad kill... so in spring, those bass are snapping more than usual.
to get our water that low means we need to see some real temps below 30°F for extended periods of time.  even then, the only ice is at the backs of the bays and can usually be broken easily enough with a metal boat.

positives with every situation!

and to be fair:  in mid-august, when it's too hot to go barefoot on the boat deck, those folks up north get a lot of jealousy headed their way!

working toward putting in a dry sauna and a hot tub (summer time it will be a 'coo' tub) as part of the old guy body maintenance program...  it's a dream.  won't happen in the next few months.

They are eating on Gunt.  Just have to figure out where they went.

Went to Jordan this past weekend and the bite wasn't on very well.  Strange.

We get that hot also. Mid august is still too hot to go barefoot even on the carpet. But boy is the fishing good then.

I was out Saturday and it was a tough bite but we managed one short fish.  I saw them swimming on my Electronics thought  lo

The lakes are wide open, the duck hunters are out in mass up in the river setting up Blinds and Decoys.  Won't be fishing up in the Lampasas River till next March.  Couple years ago Carl and I got fired upon by those duck hunter  ~shade

The water temps were 57-63 dgrs depending on your location.

They are biting but it hasn't been easy.  The bigger fish have all been in the deep grasses along the bottom fished slow.  I have caught smaller ones in the shallows moving in a quick erratic motion.  It's been a twenty cast day lately.  One fish every twenty! ::)

If you have grass lakes the deep grass line along inside turns and points are the first place to look. Shore line break walls that the water drops of quickly should get a look also. That's as far as I go, I haven't fished in winter for a while, cold and arthritis don't mix.
