Doing a bearing upgrade on my Mega Jaws, my question is do you need to breakdown the reel to remove the bearing under the spool tension cap?

I haven't cleaned but a couple Cast King reels, the ones I have it's no issue, just pop the cap and remove the retainer.

Now there are a couple reels out there, I think they are quantum or maybe 13 Fishing, that you have to remove the retainer from the underside of the side plate.

Just take the tension cap off, if you see a retainer clip, then you're good to go.

Any secret to get the bearing out after removing the retainer?

No secret, just like you seen just tap and it comes out. I use a dental tool to make it handy.
