it's october.  grass matts are 'right'.  lots of people working them hard for the frog bite.  I'm still struggling with the whole concept, but having a blast learning.
Water clarity was good.  Clear... mostly 2-plus foot visibility.  Air temps at 4PM were 72°F.  Overcast with a 5-6 mph SW wind.  A little chop on the pond, but not much.  Thing is, when the wind blows UP the lake against the current, those 'standing ripples' in the river become a bit more aggressive and the ride can get a little bumpy, especially in a tin mod-v boat.
Water temps were low 70s and TVA was generating current at/around 47000 cfs.  it's been pretty constant as we're in fall draw-down. with recent rains, it's not like the plug has been pulled, but they're working on getting another 3-4 feet down for winter.

No success on punching.  No one wanted the swimbait.  Most fish came on mainlake weed beds/lines.  A few on a frog; a few on the buzz-toad and a good half-dozen on a pencil popper in 'chop'.
no giants.  fun few hours.

love fall.  prettiest time of the year with the colors.  a huge fan of cypress.  they've been coming on here since I first showed up in 2014.

should have been some fish here.  not that I could tell.  but a pocket off the main lake.  some depth, weed mats and wind blowing in...  was worth the time spent.
