2cnd day of TBF STQ. Warm start overcast on a lake that I know pretty well. Started on rocks in 5'-8' that traditionally holds good fish for me. Threw a jig, a spook and a ned with no result. Moved out into a flat with scattered cabbage and another weed I call Christmas trees (need to learn its name). 1st fish was a near 6 lb on a Dirty Jig swim jig and Gambler EZ Swimmer trailer. Great fish and turned out to be lunker and $ for the day but pointed me in the wrong direction. I did catch  a limit amongst those weeds either on the swim jig or on the bait I call Larry, Aka the General not a senko LOL Did get a good cull in shallow rocks on a arky jig with menace grub but the weed flat kept calling me. Last 4 hours very unproductive wasting that great start focusing on fasts with weeds . Water temps rose to 80° but was tough fishing I thought. I dug myself a hole on day 1 on Maranacook and my 14 and change was a little short to make the top 6. Finished #7 a little over 1/2 lb out. I did get lunker on the day 5.81 lbs, my wife liked getting a check lol
The swim jig is something that has paid off in Maine from my experience in Florida. Any time you can swim it deflecting of weeds it can be good. The boot tail on the ezee swimmer has the thrum of a spinnerbait though more subtle. A menace grub or Keitech also good. I have been the antisenko guy for years.....for those like minded Berkley's General Max Scent is a bomb alternative for those with no scruples. Aka Larry, Aka Mr Nixon. Drop shot,  wacky with Falcon weedless or T rigged.

I will be a co angler for the first time in a long time. Will get to sit in the recliner in the back of the boat and just fish lol

I have 2 more chances on the bass nation side coming up. Hopefully I can put 2 dsys together in one of them.
