My buddy James Moseby and I went out to Camp Far West yesterday afternoon-evening.  We got on the water about 4 pm and headed for some deeper points.  The lake is down 80 feet and we are launching off an old road.  As is typical of all our lakes right now, caution is needed because of falling water levels.  Water temp is actually cooling a little and was 79 degrees, it has been over 83.  Water has a nice stain with about 3 feet of visibility.  At our first stop James had a fish on with a hula grub before I even had my lure unhooked from the rod clip.  We caught fish pretty steadily until we quit just before 8 pm.  There were a lot of suspended fish chasing bait.  Caught quite a few with crankbaits and lipless crankbaits.  I did catch one topwater fish on a popper and James had a couple on a fluke.  And of course the Hula Grub on a 3/8 football head.   We caught a few 2 pound + fish, but nothing big.  Total for the day was 25-30 between us.  Fish were definitely point oriented in both the river and main lake.  Was a good night.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!
