back out last night after work for a few hours.  figured a day of thunderstorms rolling through (not much lightning though) might make for less boat traffic on the old pond.  I was right.  Got to visit with a TWRA representative doing creel work (they've started up a new focus on fishing reports).  In his work he'd only run across EIGHT anglers on the lake.  that's an awfully slow day out there.
Air temps stayed in high 70's all day with clouds and rain.  Light breezes from variable directions, out of south in morning, switched to north mid-day.
Found my fish on wood again.  Docks.  Skipping baits into the areas that I can't reach with pitching.  water clarity was good but with slight stain.  maybe 1.5 - 2 foot visibility.
Water temps (Dallas Bay) were 85.1°F on the bow trolling motor (1.5 feet down).
Chickamauga dam was spilling at 31000 cfs

I was fishing the way I wanted to fish:  shallow (less than 6 feet deep), not the way I SHOULD be fishing (deep, 20-25 feet out on the ledges)..
on the water at 5PM, off by 7:30PM.  7 or 8 bass.  Most in the 16 - 17 inch class.  one might have been bigger, but she took me under a laydown and when I tried to work her out, she rubbed the hook out on the wood.  looked to potentially be best fish of the night.
