I have a 2019 Ranger 518c which uses four batteries.  Two are for the Trolling motor and two for cranking and electronics.  After about a half day of fishing today the two cranking batteries charged within minutes (green light on charger) but the two trolling motor batteries remain with all red lights for both batteries.  Normally, they would be charged in just a few hours.  The batteries are 3 years old.  Could both the batteries have died at the same time or could part of the charger system failed?  I'm hoping that perhaps the lights will be green in the morning but I've never had this situation before.  All batteries have charged in a relatively short time.

Your trolling batteries are probably hooked in series, if one is bad it can take longer for both to charge. 3 years on trolling batteries is pretty good. Check water levels but it may be time to replace.

Could be some of both. I had a charging lead down to 1 strand of wire so it was basically "useless" but the battery would still show up as "green" somehow. Well turns out that same battery from not getting properly charged had dropped a cell so about halfway thru a day I'd lose it completely and limp around on the 1 "good" battery but it was brutal.

If you have a meter see if you are reading at least 12.6 Volts or so charged per battery unhooked and if hooked to the charger roughly 13.5-14 Volts per battery. Can also unhook the leads and meter them directly (Please use caution while doing this and make sure just the meter leads touch the charging leads!!!).

All lights green this morning.  Could be one or both batteries are getting weak and it takes longer to charge.  Or, maybe I'm a little impatient and jumped the gun.  Thanks for the info.

Good News. Still if they are Water Filled Type I would check the levels in each and add Distilled Water as needed.

Only use Distilled Water when filling a Battery.

You may want to have them checked, you don't want a failure on the water, just ruins a good day. Also, be sure your connections are clean.

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.
