Jabber Jaw vs Axis (chatter blade style cranks)

So I got 2 of these "chatter bladed lip" style baits to try out and give my opinion on. You have 13 Fishing's "Jabber Jaw" and 6th Sense's "Axis". Both are kinda in a patent fight and I'm sure one will have to cease production once settled but that's a different discussion lol. I'll list as Pros and Cons for me for each bait then an overall opinion.

13 Fishing Jabber Jaw:
Pros-
Runs true- not that it has any sort of adjustment screw but ran great right out of the package
Durable- smacked it off quite a few posts and the metal lip and body didn't care!
Neutral buoyancy- it suspends on a pause which to me is good for dock fishing but maybe not so great around brush
Subtle tight wiggle- doesn't seem to vibrate an extreme amount
Color selection- plenty of colors and they look great!
Casts well- compact bait that can really throw. I was throwing under docks and it didn't "wing off" in random directions.
Hooks are sharp- they come with a round bend hook that curl inwards some and they are sticky sharp

Cons-
True depth range? says it can hit 5-6' and I was using braid but I never even got close to that even on a long cast. I would say 2-3' is the average of all my casts.

6th Sense Axis:
Pros-
Runs to depth as advertised- I could def get 5' out of it
Colors- great set of colors
Bigger wobble/hunting action- It has a wider wobble and likes to hunt. Can make it feel odd at times
Durable- metal blade didn't bend or chip after running into rocks
Floats back up quick- would be better around brush on a pause
More vibration- really makes your rod tip dance!
Hooks are sharp- comes with triple grip style hooks and they are sharp.

Cons-
Runs sorta off- some of this is the "hunting action" but it def wanted to go left (as looking) on the retrieve if started fast. Better on a slow start retrieve. No adjustment can be made either like on normal lures.
Casting is harder- the bait is a little longer and wanted to "wing off" sometimes on a cast. Also if thrown hard would want to flutter.

Overall impressions-
I would use the Jabber Jaw for pin point casting around docks and when on the shallow sides. I would use the Axis more in open water or at the end of docks to reach deeper than the Jabber Jaw. If you want a tight action use the Jabber Jaw, a more wider hunting action the Axis. Axis floats back up and the Jabber Jaw almost suspends so on a pause keep that in mind. Both companies have some great color options.

Thank you for the side by side review. I haven't got my hands on these yet but looking forward to it. For me the Axis is going to get my money, I like the extra hunting actions and don't mind having to work with it.

Totally agree on the Jabber Jaw. I have a couple that I've used a time or two. That's pretty much what I noticed also, other than the buoyancy. I didn't pay attention to that as I was just chucking and winding. I plan on getting some Axis' also, but haven't yet.

I have a couple Axis but have yet to even take them out the pack lol.
