Can you say "Let's Get Ready To Rumble"!!!!!

Welcome to round #6 of the SJHT 2021 season where 14 members came out to battle for the Big Girls down on the SASS. River.

Anglers were very excited being able to kick start todays event with everybody being early and all set to go on the water.  With the tide somewhat already going out, many anglers had some good early bites.
Myself included.  But the Sass would have her laughs later as there were some Big Fish missed.
Without further adieu, please give a big congrats once again to NorthEast River MD winner and now the Sassfras River winner 1st place    Rob *Ram1212* Masterson for weighing in 3 Bass going 10.59lbs. Rob had a 3.93lb Lunker but that wasn't Top Lunker.. 2nd Place was won by Brian *SubFish* McCulley with 3 Bass going 9.15lbs.  This was Brian's almost exact weights up on at the NorthEast River, MD 2 weeks ago.  3rd Place was won by Dan  Fitzpatrick with 3 Bass going 8.42lbs..   Today's overall Lunker was won by the "BoogeyMan* AKA Mike Del Monico with a 4.56lb Hog.

Misc. was won by Matt *Always chasing Monster SnakeHeads* Renschler with a SnakeHead that went 9.41lbs.  See pics for reference.

Summary:  The Sassafras River showed *Who we thought she was*.  That is a great fishery with many species, quality bass, and never knowing when Moby Dick will break you off or spiral in the air and say *Beep...Beep*  See ya Later!!!!

Anglers reported having limits before 6:30am (i.e. as the Tide was still a little higher) and still catching\loosing the same Bass at least 3 times in a row!  Sorry Rob.  LMAO!!!
Judging by the Tale of the Tape, the bass were avg in size and weight and didn't show any signs of that LargeMouth Virus that's going on further South on the Chesapeake Bay.

In All, all 12 out of 14 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass.   There were 22 Bass caught overall. The SASSAFRAS River Bass gave way to total of 64.83lbs caught overall. That was nearly 8lbs more than the NorthEast River previous tournament with 2 more Bass caught than  that event.

The SASS avg. weight was 2.95lbs whereas the NorthEast River had an avg. of 2.81lbs with 2 less Bass.

4 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.  Another great turnout in spite of the BFL's launching out of the NorthEast River Anchor Marine areas and other smaller club events going on.
Congrats to Rob, Brian, Dan, Mike Del Monico, and Matt on your performance.

Next up is LUMS SP, Bear, DE in 2 weeks.

Tightlines,

Love reading your reports.... Lots of quality bass being caught...

Can't imagine the fight that snake head put up ~bb ~bb looks like it's got some serious shoulders on it.

Yes Mike...some quality fishning those pics.  That snakehead from what i heard put up a great.  Fishing in the shallower waters proved more enticing than say out in the middle with no protective cover and structures.
