I am looking to get a New better rod. I want a VERY specific kind of Rod. A little background. My first "real" rod was a Berkly Lightning 6' Md-Hvy spinning with a Abu cardinal 4000 spinning reel.
I am more of a Finese fisherman AND I love to shoot docks, boats, under trees, bushes etc. So I skip and pitch a lot. Thus the accuracy and control I get from a shorter firmer rod works well for me. So if it isn't broke I have no need to fix it.
The fishing world today has turned to the light weight telephone poles with the back bone of a buggy whip. Hey, the pros for the most part win with them so I am not knocking the rods etc they use...all I'm saying is the majority of todays rods are just not what I want to fish with.
I am looking for a 6'6", med-Hvy, mod to fast, spinning rod in the $200 to $300 range.
I have looked high and low and found these: Favorite Rush, G6X, Fenwick World Class & Avid [don't know how sensitve a cork reel seat can be???]
I of course can't fish these rods with out buying them first.....so, can you give me input on these spacific rods.

As much as I like Loomis of those choices I'd lean to the St.Croix.  I'm not sure if the Avid is going to stick around with the launch of the new Victory series.

I def thought there would be plenty of options here but guess not after some searching!

I have fished plenty of St Croix rods but not the Avid so can't say for sure on it. Will vouch for all their other rods I've used as being great though. They did have a Premier model- PSS66MHF that fits your description but looks like that line is gone now/sold out due to the Victory line. Speaking of it they haven't released all their models yet so not sure. I do have 1 of the baitcasters and it's a well put together rod. Found one other possibility and attached a pic but have never fished a Shimano.

Look at the Cashion Icon series of rods also, they may have something that would work for you!  I own four of these rods and are very pleased with the ones I have.  Just another idea
