feeling better (up to almost 5 miles a day with the 'roadwork') and getting more hours, longer days on the water; more energy.  always important for old guys.

Conditions on the river
Air Temps:  47°F at 630AM.  78°F at 4PM
Wind:  8mph out of North
Water Temps:  65°F - 67°F
Flow Rate:  8000 cfs
Sunny some high light clouds
with slow current sought out areas with 'most' to fish eddies and spawning areas.  fish came on variety of soft plastics from t-rigged, dropshots and weightless flukes (dead-sticked)shad spawn has not yet started but should be at about any time now.  most fish seemed to be in the 3-5 foot depths.

looked to me to be primarily a crayfish bite today.  here's one that was coughed up.  in the gullet the blacks and oranges on antennae and claw tips really stood out.  as a reformed fly angler, I always pay attention to the 'match the hatch' stuff.

Thank you for sharing your report with us. Paying attention to the details, or what I like to call the "clues" will make big difference during an outing.

I always try to pay attention to what the bass are coughing up. Especially tournament fishing, when I check on the bass in the live well throughout the day, I will investigate the stuff at the bottom and see if I need to adjust my offerings.
