To all,

I know it's a little early and a lot can change between now and then, but I wanted to start some planning.  My brother and I are taking my dad on a Father's Day trip to Toledo during the middle of June.  I will be pulling camper and brother pulling the boat.  I'm not very familiar with TB as we tend to only go maybe once or twice a year.  He's getting pretty far up in age and not in the greatest health, so we are wanting to have a "guys" trip for some good memories.  I wanted to reach out and get some opinions on what would be the best area of the lake to fish that time of year, best camping area close to that area, etc.?  We would be more interested in catching numbers opposed to big fish as he likes to catch fish!  He will not want to night fish at all, so I'm thinking early morning and late afternoon to dodge the heat.  Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated as I plan to put this trip together.

Man I can't think of a better place than the North Toledo Bend State Park for the camper, and then you can drive your boat with the truck to the 1215 launch and blue lake and you'll catch all the fish you want. Should be some vegetation growing so a frog bite will be on and after the sun gets up pick up the plastics and catch keepers all day.

Thanks Mike.  That's kind of what I am leaning too.  I guess what little I know of TB, I'm more familiar with the 1215/Blue Lake area.  It also fits more of our style fishing as well, as I don't know much for offshore fishing or have the time to graph and locate offshore structure.  Plus with us mainly fishing early and late, that area should have a decent topwater bite.

Another area, is the North Side of Lanan with Tranquility Bay being your lodging area. I have caught a ton of bass fishing the shoreline and docks from the mouth to the bridge in the back on the north side.

I have looked at Tranquility Bar and it looks like a nice area to camp.  I can't say I've ever fished in Lanan.  Does it typically have grass and wood or typical pattern is docks, etc.?  I'm wondering how it would be in June?  I would love to get my dad and brother on some schoolers as well.  Is there a common area that they tend to come up more in June or it's just a timing and guess thing?

There is grass and cypress trees along the bank. I've caught fish all day long on frogs in the shade. Then pitching jigs and Texas rigs to the docks.
