I caught the pond monster!

Hey guys! It's been a minute since I've posted anything. I recently moved from Omaha, NE to just outside St Louis and now living in Illinois. To say that things have been hectic would be an understatement. However, I did find some time a few days ago to do some fishing. I decided to see what the base ponds had to offer and it did not disappoint! I caught a big one as my very first bass. The video is below.

This is the first place I've been to in my 17 years that has a base lake, not to mention a decent one. You boys down there at Barksdale are so spoiled! And I'm incredibly jealous!

Oh Barksdale has some awesome ponds on it. Heck one is a lake that you can put your big boat on... Amazing fishing too...

When I was stationed at Beale out west we have several ponds. You could get sucked into fishing them and forget about the big water  Caught my first 8 pounder out of a base pond

Steve congrats on the catching and tks for sharing that video with us also.  I fished that pond back in the day.  My brother was stationed there with the Army Aviation unit prior to retiring.  We took his son down there and caught some small largemouths. 

I've enjoyed fishing the ponds on all the Army bases I've been stationed at.  The best pike fishing I've enjoyed was while in Alaska and yep it was on Eielson AFB just outside of the town of North Pole, Alaska.
