First Boat or Car?

How many of y'all bought your first boat before your first car?

I actually had 2 different boats before my first car. The first was a 10' johnboat with a 3 hp johnson outboard and MinnKota 12 lb thrust trolling motor and the second was a Bass Tracker Bantam bass boat with a MK 24 lb. thrust trolling motor.

Any other crazies out there?

1978 I got my first boat, I was 12 years old.  A Monarch 10 ft Jon with an early 60's 3 hp Chief with the 1 gal gas tank on the top of the engine.

I grew up on Lake Norman and was allowed the run of Skippers Cove from the river channel to the landing.  Fortunately it came with oar locks and oars.  Many, many, many mornings I left under gas power and returned by oar power...

Don't remember the brand but mine was a johnboat. 10 footer and I'd have dad drop me off at the base ponds on his way to work and pick me up on the way home. Sometimes he'd show up with a rod and we could fish till dark
