One of my favorite lures to throw is a jerkbait. I think it's great all year long but it really starts to shine this time of year. It's one of the few lures that you can keep suspended in the strike zone for long periods of time. Which is necessary when the water starts getting really cold like we are seeing here in the Midwest.

This video is from a local lake last week. This lake is normally pretty stingy to me but she really showed out for me on this day.

Say reason? Knowing where you live, I'm going to guess it's due to how much the toothy critters like them.

I think it is because I view them largely as pre-spawn and cold water and with our Legal Seasons, the time period is so short for me and I haven't really tried or built confidence them as a year round bait

Fair enough. Personally, I think it's a great lure all year long. Particularly when you have smallies around.

Bot a favorite of mine but definitely not a bad lure to like. I only use them in colder water but im sure they work in warm water as well. I just like other methods better in warm water.
