We got blasted with rain yesterday, about 8.5 inches. All rivers, stream, creeks major flooding. 4 bridges gone around us and no telling how many roads. Several folks didn't make it. Norman rose over 3.5 feet yesterday

Yup, we're getting it. The New River is well over it's banks, but I've seen worse.

Yep, river flood warnings have already been issued. Flood stage expected by Saturday.

Norman jumped 3.5'?!?!?! Wowsers. I've never seen that lake jump really quick before. Feel bad for mountain Island and Wylie downstream.

The water is now arriving.  River currently at minor flood stage and now that it is king tide time the tides are adding even more problems to the mix.  Still planning on fishing this week but might not based on the water coditions.  Just gotta be safe.  Floods here usually include a lot of floating things just under the surface that cannot be seen.  Our water is black and visibility less that 6" is common but even worse during flood time.

Be careful Bud.  I was watching a boat race on the Cape Fear in the 80s and saw a hydroplane explode into fiberglass dust when it hit a log that was just under the surface.
