Got the lower unit removed from the old Merc. Got the cover off the water pump...but the impeller seems like it's rusted on the drive shaft.

I've tried soaking with penetrating oil, but it seems to be really stuck on there.

Suggestions how to get it off? Thanks!  Daubs

Tap it back and forth with a brass drift and a hammer it should loosen. I have had to pry them up a couple of times.

Just be careful so you don't do any damage, use some never seize when you reinstall a new impeller.

Never seize is awesome.  I think I have some that is probably over 25 years old and it still works great!

Never seize is a great suggestion!

I managed to get the impeller off the drive shaft. Got out the dremel and carefully ground through the impeller, making sure not to damage the drive shaft.

It is off! New parts should be here by Friday!
