I got two.

Whopper Plopper. Bought 2 in different sizes and colors not long after they came out. Tossed them quite a bit at first and never caught 1 Fish on them. Tried different ways to retrieve and think I've had one haft hearted hit.

Chatterbait. Supposed to be all the Rage. I have several Brands and Colors and throw them quite often and have yet to even get a hit on one.

What have you bought expecting good results and have Zeroed with?

Deadeye

Thought of another one.

The Live Target Sunfish. Man I watched a show where they were tearing them up on it. Bought several in different colors and sizes and while I have had some Explosive Hits on them, I have yet to actually stick a fish with one.

Haven't even tried one in a couple of years now.

Bought quite a few thrown the a bunch. Never stuck a fish on a rig yet

lo ... same lures for me. Out of these 3 lures Fred, I have had the most luck with the sunfish.  I haven't thrown the Sunfish since their release however.  I posted a review about this lure a few years back. I was very disappointed with Sunfish, because the lip around the counter weight rips very easily, rendering the lure useless.

I have a few S-Wavers and Jerkbaits that haven't seen a fishes mouth. I hope to remedy that.

Only one for me is a buzz bait. I have caught many fish on every other top water bait around but no luck on a buzz bait of any style color period.
The harbor looks much better after you have made it through a rough storm.

I'm the same with chatterbaits and buzzbaits. I wouldn't necessarily say I've thrown them a lot, but I haven't had much luck with them when I have.

Buzz Baits........never a fish or hit, other guys say they are bass magnets. After a while I just quit trying.

Deadeye

I've caught quite a few fish using a Buzz Bait, some pretty good ones too.

That's why I figured the Plopper should work. But don't know what it is but just don't do much for me.

Is it just me or do whopper poppers (and Berkley Choppo) not start "plopping" or stay plopping very well? To be fair, I'm fishing out of a kayak so maybe altitude makes a difference? I occasionally catch fish on 'em but I'm not sure I should be having to retrieve them so fast just to keep 'em spinning.

Lure I've never caught anything on is (this is embarrassing...) is a drop shot. Yeah, I know. EVERYONE catches stuff on a drop shot when all else fails. Go figure, I'm the guy who has a great hookup ratio on hollow body frogs lol.

It was a chatterbait till this year and it is leading in fish catches for me.
So I'd have to say a fluke. I've caught a couple fish in about a million casts. I've even tried it when a jerkbait was killing and got zippo.

To follow up on this, I was at a small lake last night. It seemed good chatterbait conditions. Choppy, fairly clear lake, but had a little stain to the water. Grassy. I was determined to catch fish with one. I threw one for a while. Had one try to hit it right at my kayak, but missed it. Changed to a swim jig and started slaying them. Went back to a chatterbait, nada. I caught fish on everything else I used, wacky senko, weightless t-rig senko, frog, popper, and swim jig. Nothing on the chatterbait. Doh!

Dnkpro

Jigging spoon of any sort. Whether chasing white bass, largemouth, and stripers. See them on the lowrance and everything no bites.

Wow, now that one surprises me. I put more fish in the Boat with a Speedworm year in and year out than any other lure.

Zip I've had years like that. Using a HB Frog I almost never got a bite. Then for a period of about 9-12 months I didn't want to put it down. I caught BIG Fish and LOTS of Fish on every outing using one.

Then for some reason it stopped. Has never came back for me like it did during that one Period of time.

Don't hate me I fish weird lakes but... a T-rigged senko! I catch 'em on wackys but a t-rig drives into the muck around here.

Chatterbaits are my top producing bait! Odd for sure, buzzbaits are my most productive top water too.
