Decided yesterday to take half a day and go fish one of the big lakes in the immediate area, Falls Lake which is about 12,000 acres.  A bit of a tough place to fish from but I was set to try and make it happen from the bank.

I park off the side of the road and hike in to the water about 500ft in a cove not far from the dam leading to a major river in NC.  Not too long after I get there, in comes this jet ski with 2 dudes on it to fish the same cove I am in for not ever 15 minutes and then they gun it out of there.  After they leave and whatever bass are still around relax a bit, I hook into a small dinger.

After that I begin to make the trip across the rip rap to the other side which is ~85 yards.  3/4 of the way across a bass boat comes chugging along and they set their trolling motor 50 yards in front of the direction I'm travelling and start moving my way.  They burn through the area I was casting into, and I had a few seconds of thinking I should tie on a sinker and foul up their trolling motor for that, but I continue to hike on around the cove for new spots.

After a couple hours I finally figured out a pattern which got me a couple hookups, but no landings.  Only found 2 other locations fitting the pattern with 1 fish from each (~2lbs each) and nothing else.

This is going to be a tough lake from the bank, still trying to decide if it's worth it (boat fishermen fishing my area/lack of bank access) or to go back to pond fishing.

You still managed to catch a few decent bass even with boats and jet skies messing up your spots, so congrats  ~c~ ~c~

I too am a magnet for thoughtless boaters.  Twice I was in a six mile canal and had a boater run five miles of empty canal to set down 30 yards in front of where I was fishing.  The world is full of thoughtless, dumb, individuals!
