transom savers

any good ones out there> have gone thru several over the years. only use because they say it save the lift on the motor. Have a 25 hp with tilt and trim

A lot depends upon the motor, the boat and the trailer you have.  Many boat builders recommend a standard transom saver that goes between the lower unit and hooks onto the trailer.  I used this type for over 25 years but now have switched to Motormate and have been very pleased with it.  I would have stayed with a traditional saver but I had a custom trailer built for my ranger and the new trailer just did not match up very well.  The motor mate does a good job of locking the motor in place to protect the lift system but does not take any pressure off of the transom.  This is not a problem for most boats today but some of the older ones may not have adequate strength.  So like I said the answer depends up what you boat, motor and trailer might be
