New Virginia State Record Spotted Bass

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries reported a new state record for Spotted Bass. This one caught at Claytor Lake on January 1st by Cliffton Joel Hamilton, 4lbs 12oz!

That must have been a fight!

Very nice. That's a pretty one.

I was within casting distance from the guy that caught the state record Spotted Bass in California years ago. He no longer holds it but it was an amazing fight to watch.

I lived just 45 minutes from it. Back then it wasn't much of a lake. The one I saw caught was on Collins lake, which is just a few miles from Bullards....
