So I'm walking around the Chicago fishing show today, getting a few jigs, some soft plactics, etc. I'm casually looking at a few rods after telling my wife I don't really need a rod right now, just have a couple I want. So she actually suggested I can get one if I wanted. Nice! So I'm the proud new owner of a Tatula 6'10" MH Fast rod to upgrade my workhorse, which was a cheaper rod. Can't wait for the white stuff to leave now. I have that and my new Dobyns Fury finesse rod to try. Come on Spring!

Best of luck and please make a report when you try them out.

Two new rods waiting for warmer weather? You'll be chomping at the bit to get out this spring.

Enjoy!

That's a good wife alright. ~c~ It's been years since I've been to the Chicago fishing show.

You dummy, you just stepped in the trap!  That's a known ruse for Quid Pro Quo!  Next month, you'll be walking by some store and she'll say, "I've really been eyeing that cute handbag" or "honey, look how shiny that necklace is! Isn't it amazing???".  You've been warned....

I'm pretty lucky here, my wife isn't into much of that type of stuff. She lets me buy a lot of things I want, so she's due for a treat or two anyway.

The show was decent. Other than the rod, I bought some jigs and trailers from some of the local makers. Decent deals here and there, nothing earth shattering. I would have bought the wife an Aird-X rod but nobody had any. The boat selection was minimal. I was hoping to see more models to investigate as I'll be getting one in about a year. There were a LOT of resorts/guides/cabin locations there. This was actually a good thing this time because we were interested in finding some vacation spots.

Yea, I'm sure my first trip will be a pretty cold adventure. Just need the water go go back to liquid state so I can play with my new toys. Add on the fact we just picked up my wife and son's kayaks and we'll get mine in a few weeks. Stupid northern weather! I have her kayak in the house so I can play with making crates, etc. That'll keep me occupied a bit, but I'm sure not enough!

And here I thought I was the only one with a wife like that!  Darn it anyhow!  lol

Yup.  Best wife ever.  Mine says I already have too many.  She's right, but what does that have to do with anything?   lo
