I fished a hard 5.5 hours on Lake Arthur on Saturday from the bank. Hitting up all of my favorite spots that I could. Weather was raining (drizzle early on to steady later in the afternoon), fairly windy, and temperature was around 50*.

After 4 hours of not having a single bite, I was starting to think that the fish have moved off the banks and weeds, and into their winter homes offshore. Then I hooked into a good fish on a buzzbait, unfortunately it came off and I never landed her. I'm guessing this fish was 3-4 pounds.

I then moved to a spot near the regatta that still had some healthy looking weeds on it. I ended up catching two clones (14.25 and 14") on back to back casts on a buzzbait.

Despite having a little luck, I am pretty certain that our local fish are done being shallow and have moved off shore to their winter homes. On the plus side, the fall foliage is in full effect right now and the trees look beautiful.

Thanks for the report and taking the time to share the view. We don't get fall colors way down here. One minute they are green an the next day they are on the ground. Part of living in Louisiana I guess..

The colors are great but will be gone by the weekend. They don't last long here either.
