Word is the Fred Roumbanis rods will be out before the end of the year. Dobyns is just waiting on the shipments now which should arrive some time in December.
They will be in the Champion line of rods.

Also a little birdy told me that Gary has gotten some new materials to play with and is Frankensteining some new ideas.

Anything you guys want made?
Let us know so Gary might work on it.

I know I'm young and dont have much experience at all, but I mean a cheaper glass dobyns such as a fury or colt would be real nice. Thanks. (I know it's a long shot hes probably a very busy man)

The Fury 705cb is a great cranking rod. It does a lot of treble hook techniques well. Many of us have one in the Fury series, because we spend less on moving bait rods than a bottom contact rod.

Jacob, I think the 705cb glass is only available in a champion series.

zippyduck

Like Bud said, it is a graphite rod with a moderate fast action. It has a lot more bend to keep a fish pinned on treble hooks.

I just wish the hook keeper on the casting rods was one that allowed you to slip the hook under without having to pull the tip out/through your plastic when you have something weedless tied on.

Smallie_Stalker

I'd like to see a 6'3" or 6' 4" full handle casting rod with a tip that has some give in it. Not as much bend as a cranking rod, but a little more than a normal fast action.

And I'd also vote for the more modern hook keeper.  :-*

Dobyns has a 634CB and 635CB and both have full handles. Both are more moderate all graphite models.  Ask and you shall receive.

Seen this today

That 743S looks like money. I'll probably snag one.

As far as something new I'd like to see. How about something like a 6104C? I'd love something just shy of 7' that would be good for throwing spinnerbaits, swim jigs, and jigs in tight spots up close. Maybe even a 5 power option as well.

Thanks DD. I'll check the site more carefully. I also should have specified I'd want it for throwing mostly light (say 1/4 oz.) jerkbaits on braid. Do you think a 4 power would work or am I gonna have to look at spinning gear for this?

Thanks for the help.

What will be the difference between a Roumbanis CH rod vs a regular CH rod other than color scheme?

I wish I could but that is all the info I have now. Hopefully Gary will clear this up for us.

I know the 743sf and the 803sb are new rods.

I have the 704CB and 684CB and I'd say the 4 power would be great for any 1/4 ounce bait.  But it won't be a Roumbanis signature model :)

Gary Dobyns

The 703C Utility rod is not changed and neither is 705CB. Still the green color looks different and a couple are brand new. I made Freddy happy :)

Zippy, you own me a Diet Coke!!!  I'm not sure how you pulled this off, but I'm testing a DC 610-4C. I made this primarily as a Dock skipping rod. I've tested myself and I'm passing a couple of samples around right now. So far everyone loves it. Of course I've got guys saying it's a good jig rod, it's a frog rods, it's a ......  It will be a great jig rod and TX rig rod but made for skipping docks. I'm not sure how you got this one Zippy!!!!

Gary,
You can sign me up for one of these rods. If it's basically a 6'10" version of the 734c, I might even buy two.

I could definitely see a skipping rod in my future.  ~cf
