Can't thank Winslow PD Lt. Chris Dubler and Chief Smith and his fellow lawmen for allowing SJHT and its members to once again volunteer and help with there 3rd annual Cops and Bobbers Kids Fishing Derby. The 35 or so kids along with there parents\guardians seemed delighted at the fact of members of the community taking time out there busy schedules to allow boys and girls the opportunity to connect with the outdoors.

A Big Congrats goes out to the fish catchers pictured above and to those that got nibbles.

Between the food (i.e. Hot Dogs, Philly pretzels, water ice, potato chips, and beverages) along with the T-shirts, hats, Rod\Reel Combo's given out, and brochures on the services available within township, all were very happy and eager to wet a fishing line.

Here are some pics from Saturday's event (in no particular order)

and last but not least.....Pro Joe Reed.....lol

Summary:  There were multiple fish of various species caught.  Biggest was by Pro Joe on a Wacky Rig setup but Sir Richie caught multiple pickerel and little bass under the 10" range.  Anglers near the bait station seem to have more luck with the fishing activity vs. those on the other side of the lake.  There was plenty of grass but the shallow depths made it hard at times to cast and retrieve freely.  Earthworms and Minnows was the bait of choice while Pro Joe kept to the Artificial.  Way to show them Joe.  LoL.

Kids and parents left the event with smiles on there face and a promise to return in 2020.

Thanks again to all of our volunteers and specifically from the SJHT club.
