Tried Mauch Chunk for the first time this morning, it's an electric only lake, about 300acres. Scouted the banks up shallow first with top water, and nothing. It's pretty clear with about 6-7ft of visibility. Lots of beds shallow but only saw 1 small bass. Got down towards the dam in 20 to 40 ft and started marking a lot of bait and some fish. I tried dragging a shaky head around in about 25ft for a little, but didn't get anything. I've never really caught anything on a swimbait, so I tend not to fish them too much. But I recently got a box of psycho shads from Lockett. I tied one on a 3/16 ball head jig. And started tossing it. A few minutes later some bait started busting close to the boat. I fired out and bam, first fish. I  put the trolling motor on high and proceeded to watch for bait busting, and ran to them. I  boated 4 and missed a few in the next 30 min. Of course it was time to go then:(  no big ones but sure was fun to catch them on a new technique.

Cool deal! Learning new techniques is always a great thing. Those Psycho shads work great and hold up to more bites than most swimbaits.
