So my 4yr old is fishing now and it's time for dad to pass down my spinning rig.  I'm going to give him my flueger president and Daiwa Laguna M Lt/Xf.

I want to upgrade myself to something nice as I've never had an expensive eggbeater and rod.  My price range is around 350 max.

Reels I'm currently looking at are Daiwa BG, Pflueger Supreme, Daiwa Tatula LT and the Shimano Stradic ci4+.

Rods I dont know, but I'm looking for something in a med light fast as I mainly use it for dropshots, weightless worms, ned rig etc.

As to the rod check out the Megabass Levante Whipsnake. A great drop shot,  ned,  light shaky head rod.
At  $ 200 they fish above their price point and you get Megabass build quality.

My current set up for those applications is a Dobyns Sierra 703sf and a Shimano Sahara FI.
The whole combo is around $250 MSRP and can be had for less if you look around.
I also use it to skip light baits under docks.
3rd place 2017 UB IBASS 377.75"
AOY 2018 IBASS Cool Casters  369.00"
AOY 2019 IBASS Cool Casters  362.50"

What reel are you pairing with the Whipsnake?
