Yeah I saw that. It's good to see that our guys can compete.

Wow...4 pounds made the cut?  Bob's partner must not have been on fish :(

We made it back safely.  Jeff finished 29th overall and cashed a check.   ~c~  I didn't get the luck of the draw either day.  My first day boater only had 1 short and 1 keeper.  I managed 3 shorts and lost 1 around 4 lbs trying to fish a plastic behind a speeding boat (boater was spinner-bait fishing).  On my second day boater had one 14" keeper that weighted .14 lbs.  We both had around 10 shorts.  We ran to the dam and fished one small pocket the entire day (very boring).  I still enjoyed the experience and although my boaters didn't find fish they were both very nice guys.  Not really pro's, just retired buisness owners with no sponsors who just enjoyed fishing.  Wish I could be like that.

Hi guys,
I got a little lucky this tournament. Day one I fished with a retired business owner, just like Bob did, and he too was a real nice guy. He caught a short on his first cast with Pop R, then, on his second cast, he lost about a 16 inch fish on Senko trying to swing it into the boat. He caught a small keeper on carolina rig, and I caught me 1 pound 5 oz fish on a worm at 0730. That was my last fish of the day. After a couple of hours in the creek, we tried to fish ledges in 30 mph winds. Not fun, and not productive (although we did it for about 3 hours!!).  With about an hour to fish, we went back to where we started in the creek, and my boater caught 2 on lizard in about 45 min. Day 2 I drew a young guy who is in 8th place overall. I wouldn't say we ran a LOT, but he did drive BOTH tanks dry on his 20 foot Ranger. We stared in the creek. I caught a 1 1/2 pounder on Pop-R at 0630 (which proceed to spit up 2 huge shad in the livewell). The water was super muddy, so we ran all the way to the dam. We didn't see Bob because he was hidden in a tiny little pocket all day (ask him about it!). We probably fished at least 20 spots, never spending more than 15 min or so in each, and fishing VERY fast, even when throwing plastic. At 1250 I watched a 3 pounder eat my spinnerbait in the middle of some scattered weeks, right at the side of the boat. We weighed in at 1345. I had 4-10, and was in 25th place with 5-15.  Day 2 partner had only one fish. Day three I fished with a first year pro who was in love with ledges. We fished them all day. Even when a massive front came in, and everyone else was fishing frogs and spinnerbaits shallow. I stumbled into a 14inch fish on a fat free shad on the top of a ledge. It weighed exactly 1 pound. Day three partner had 1 fish. I fell to 29th place, but am in 52nd overall for the year. Last tournament is in Sep, and I've got a good shot at making the top 50 if I don't bomb out.  See ya at Miller's Ferry.
