I'm running a Humminbird 858 into a Maxxum trolling motor that has the built in transducer. I'm having interference issues with the graph and have worked my way to the cable that goes down the shaft to the puck. Does anyone know what the connection is between the cable and the puck? Is it like the transducer you use a hose clamp on when attaching to the outside of the bow mounted trolling motor or is there a disconnect allowing the cable to be changed without replacing the puck?

I too use the puck transducer and to my knowledge the cable cannot be disconnect from the transducer.  You will have to replace the entire assembly.  Some folks will say you can splice this cable but I don't believe that for a second and would never consider it as a valid repair deal.

Thanks Bud. The cable coming up the TM shaft is a bit to long and the previous owner bunched it up in the head. I'm thinking the wire could be worn where it bends back on itself.

Is there a special connection required to hook the built in transducer up to your graph? I have a maxxum, and a 997 but the graph doesn't have a connection for that cable.

Minn Kota has adapter cables to adapt the built-in ducer to the various graphs.
