Met up with LMG at 1pm over on US 27. Decided to fish an area I haven't fished for over 15 yrs. I started with the HB frog and on my very first cast I fell way short from my intended target. While mentioning something to LMG, the water erupted, and a big bass dove deep with my frog. I set the hook and the fight was on!! While LMG grabbed the net, the bass pulled the hooks and just like that it was gone.  :'( :'( Not to worry however. The bass were active from there after.

Unfortunately the wind was pita but we made do. We fished both the main canal and some fingers. LMG was lighting the bass up with assortment of baits, but I will let him report on what was working for him.

The bite died down a bit later in the afternoon, but at around 530-6pm the dinner bell went off. The bass began biting with a vengeance. When ever my frog hit its mark in certain areas, the blow ups were sensational.

A little after 7pm we called it quits. Looked at the fish counter and we successfully boated 46 bass. @ LMG, as always brother, I had a blast. We caught some very nice bass, and witnessed some crazy blow ups. We were due for one of these trips.  ~beer~

Nice job guys.  Are they finished with the construction work out there?  Nice you two got out together and the fish cooperated. Sounds like a fun day. ~c~

That first fish was a tank. The situation in which that fish came was quite humorous. At least that started off the craziness that was the afternoon. The bite came and went. But, the final time it came....IT CAME!

We worked our way around the main canal, and we ventured into a few fingers. The wind howling the way it was, made for a bit of a challenge, but it was met and matched. Once we got the boat positions down, it was a matter of us just picking apart.

We both started the day with the frog. We hammered them pretty good. Swim jigs....nailed them too. I threw a tiny chatterbait, and managed a few. Then, switched to the UV worm, and tore some up. 4 of the 5 rigs I brought had landed me fish. Introducing Lou to a little daily challenge I do with myself, I needed to land a fish with the last rig. The rig I brought to fish the spook. Being as windy as it was, I wasn't sure the spook was gonna be a good idea. None the less, if I were to complete me catching a fish on every rig I brought, it had to be used. With the spook on, I hammered a few fish.

The rest of the trip, which made for the last hour and a half, I resumed with T rigs since I was testing the McKoy line and Fuego Type R build. Lou was nailing them with the frog. At this point, the bigger fish really started to show themselves. Not only that, but were practically calling it where they would be.

This was a pretty epic trip out, and loooong over due. I had a blast as always Lou. It never fails that when we are on, we are ON.
