Anglers can keep two salmon daily in Marine Area 6 beginning Friday

Action:  Daily limit of salmon will increase to two in Marine Area 6 (East Juan de Fuca Strait). 

Effective date: Friday, March 15, 2019.

Species affected: Salmon.

Location: Marine Area 6 (East Juan de Fuca Strait).

Reason for action:  Preliminary estimates indicate that anglers have harvested 34 percent of the winter season total encounters guideline of hatchery chinook salmon through March 10, 2019. Sufficient total encounters of hatchery chinook remain to increase the daily limit of salmon to two.

Additional information: Anglers fishing Marine Area 6 have a daily catch limit of two salmon but must release wild chinook and wild coho. For more information, anglers should consult the 2018-19 Washington Sports Fishing Rules pamphlet available online at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations/.
