7/29/18 C14 canal system.

Decided to fish the ole C14 canal and see how its doing. Launched over at Margate about 6am, and ran West right off the bat to check out the current flowing under the Sawgrass Expressway. Nothing down there. Stopped at the culverts on the way back East, and still nothing. Fished along the banks as I made my way back to the ramp. Made a pit stop to grab something from the truck, and continued on East. Stopped at a cut that led up into the Margate area, and couldnt find a bite. So I headed back to the C14 and ran even more East. At this point I was at the Turnpike, and took a canal system that led to the North. Stopped at a bridge, that had some interesting current running under it. So I tossed the UV worm under the bridge, and there it was, my one and only fish of the day. Shortly after that, it started to rain. Kept on going for about an hour. I tied up under a bridge, and sprawled out on the deck for a quick snooze. After a 15 minute power nap, I was headed back to the ramp. Had the boat on the trailer about 230.

Thanks for the report Matt and boy am I glad you caught a fish today.  Sounds like the fish just didn't like you today.

Way to go.  Glad you avoided the skunk.  Sounds like a lot of casts for one fish though.  Thanks for sharing the outing with us.

I was there Saturday testing my boat out from being repaired,ran into some wave runner guys parked there truck and trailer at the launch of the boat ramp and running there wave runners full throttle in front of the ramp had a few words with them I won't be going back there anytime soon.Glad you got a fish and was on the water.Im gonna try lox tomorrow see what happens.

Tough outing, fortunately you were able to find one willing to play. The urban canals have been very tough for me lately too.

Damn just 1 huh? At least you didn't get one of those famous skunk awards. Should have gone to US 27, but there is nowhere to hide out there if you get rain or storms.

Lip sometimes when all hope is lost, I target a baby bass near the bank just so I can say I caught one and that way I don't end up with the award
