North Pond today, light winds water warming from mid 50s to 61°. Mostly sunny North pond is essentially a bowl  with scattered rock along the edges max depth less than 20 with scattered weeds out to about 12'. Great smallmouth lake (largemouth, pike, crappie). A fun lake to slow roll keitech fat swimbaits and that how we started concentrating on the 8' to 12' zone around weeds a foot or 2 tall. We caught (2) 2lb brown fish and as it turns out inadvertently. One came as  I checked a message the other came as I fixed an overrun. It took a while to realize that the fish wanted it slow and down in the grass. We switched to neds. Still a grind though the largemouth and pike more active. Full moon tonight, the Hunter's moon, maybe the smallies were waiting to play later (my excuse). Anyway, we ended up with 5 largemouth 3-4 lbs a pike 6lbs and 4 smallies an unexpectedly slow day, a fish an hour. Last fish just before dark a 4 1/4 brown fish. My Last fish in Maine for the year. Boat is headed south next week.
