Okay, probably this has been done to death but there are also probably some new baits to hit the market that deserve notice so that's why I'm asking. I know most creature baits derived from the Zoom Brush Hog and Baby Brush Hog but are there any out there that you would consider a definite cut above the rest and why?
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

I'll take a Rage Menace Twin Tail Grub over just about any other creature bait.

I hear you but those are more of a grub style bait and i am talking moreof a creature style with multiple appendages.

Check out Doc Irvings' "Chicken Foot". Very neat bait with a totally different profile.

I'm a fan of the brush hog as well.  The Gambler why not makes a good flipping/ c rig  type of deal also.

Rage Hog......most similar to the Zooms....BUT least used by me.

Rage 'Smokin Rooster'........I use this when I'm looking for a little more wieght and/or Mass.
really like it and so do the Bass!

AND MY ALL TIME FAVORITE......Rage Space Monkey!!!!!

I use this A LOT and it catches fish when thier biting and even when they are not.
I've had more outtings than I care to mention that would of ended with a Lip 'Skunked' Certificate if not for the Space Monkey!!!!!!  ;) 9and I'm not and wasn't at all a 'creature bait' believer nor angler till the Space Monkey.......I now toss it at a rate of probably 30%ish time frame.

Good in cold water straight throuogh the fall when waters cool back down.
I toss them in Veg. along with the flats.
I toss them in mucky bottoms wieghtless and up to 1/4 Oz. Tungsten Bullet in Veg. and harder bottoms.
I swim them fast and I will fish them SLOW with just a crawl or slow drag or periodic hops.

They/the appendages just move so easily with the slowest of movement and so wildly when fish fast......actually like them better then even a beaver style trailer on jigs......I still use beavers but even then I often toss a Rage Bug and don't disconnect the side arms.

I like the Pit Boss as well, along with the Yum Wooly Bug.

I like the MR Twister Flippin Out, the Pit Boss and I'm really liking the X Zone Muscle Back Hawg Hunter when I need to move a lot of water :-*

I carry Brush Hogs and beaver styles and experiment to see if the fish want a long bait or a squatty body!

You said Squatty Body!  ~roflmao

Good point though but squatty to me is the creature style. I go worms when I'm looking for a slender byte. But I can see where the brush hog style is a in between size.

I use a lot of the baits already mentioned but one of my favorites is the Mosquito Hawk by Mann's. Don't hear many people talk about it these days. Carolina rig it for river smallies and hold on to your rod.  ;)

I googled those, wow, that's not a bait the fish see every day. I see that it now comes in a hardnose to prevent bait slip; that thing looks like it would be great for punching.

So far this year the pit boss has been the winner

I don't get many opportunities for punching but I agree. The profile looks great for that technique.  :-*

I should add the Yum Wooly Bug too.
Affordable, good action and the center tail portion you can leave attached to one another or split them apart based on how much action you desire.

Actually the first creatures I ever used years ago....the Rage line is simply for when I need or want a lot of action from the creature.....which often is the case.
