I only had two hours before dark, but what the heck, needed to run my boat. Was a nice afternoon, little wind, water was clear. I had wanted a Beaver type bait and picked up something recently that kind of looks like it, a Mister Twister something. It looked so good, I thought I would catch a boatfull. I could see the bait in the water, water was so clear. No luck. I also tried another color and also a spinner bait. Finally decided heck with this, go with the old faithful -- a fluke. I couldn't find any in the boat! What! I finally found a couple of used ones and threw them and caught two, lol. I caught the first and he inhaled it so I kept him cuz he was bleeding bad and then thought, heck, I need another so I can have lunch. I finally got him. Lost two other good bites too, don't know why.

Anyway, not much time but it was nice to be out. I actually got my motor started and it ran great all day, yippee! Other fishermen I talked to didn't do much good, which surprised me. It was 77 degrees yesterday with a front coming in, I figured they would really bite. Maybe they did yesterday morning.

Salvinia wasn't bad, I went up to midlake area. Lots of bloomy stuff dropping off cypress and tupelo trees but it really didn't hamper anything. Surprised salvinia wasn't worse.

Thanks for the report  ~c~ Saturday was a weird day here. Cross and Caddo were reported at tough also. Which like you said with the front coming in, you'd think they would be chomping anything we through.
