I struggle at being unable to Keep specifically hydrilla off, but just in general as well when throwing jigs in heavier stuff below.

Best type of jig heads? Line? Anything and thanks

When I'm thick weeds and cover I usually go weightless plastics. T-rigged GY Senkos or Kutails do great for me. I will also use tungsten and nail weights. Keep the package small. If you are a die-hard "gotta pitch a jig" guy, take a look at the NuTech Grass Jig. NuTechs are about the only jigs I use.

I fish in a lot of hydrilla, like Princeton_man I use mainly plastic t-rigs. I use offset hooks when I want to be on top of vegetation or I use different weighted belly hooks to get bait to bottom or below weed tops.

I've started using more paddletail baits recently with good results. Pulling spinners get nice hits also but I spend a lot of time cleaning lure.

Texas rig soft stick baits with a lightweight bullet sinker, don't peg it just let the bait drift to the bottom or into a bass's mouth, it works.
