Hillsborough river mini report. Overcast. Water temp 81f. Level 2ft high. 5mph current in main channel. Found a slough with little current and fish bunched up eating baby tilapia.
Caught 19 and left with them still biting to take of some stuff before the classic. Missed/lost twice as many as I caught. All caught on Zoom super fluke. Color didn't seem to matter. All fish 12-16in and fat. Pattern will be repeatable at Kissimmee if there is still some flow.

May go back in the morning to get Oct started. Maybe some bigger ones will move in to feed.

Thanks for posting pics for me Lou!! I should be able to do tomorrows after I get home. Great month by the way!!! You sacked up some good ones!!
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small.

Awesome catches this month, Rick. That last one was a stud. Lou, if Rick is serious about not going back out, congratulations on the win. You deserve it, and had a great month.
Can't say I didn't go down swinging. Hit Lake "C" around 8:15 this morning. My goal was to get to 100, and if the win came with that, I'd take it, although I would feel a little bad because Lou had such an awesome month. Threw the Charlies Super Dipper almost exclusively - made a few casts with the chatterbait, and flipped a little as well, but to no avail. Started kinda slow, but the bite picked up when it started to rain. Caught a few small ones on the Dipper, then, after catching a decent 2lber, on the next cast, what would have been the winning fish blew it up. I was planted in the big pad field, and the fish was over 30 away. I couldn't troll toward it, and I couldn't move it because it was so entangled. I was finally able to put my rod down and lift the motor to go toward the fish. Right as I got there, I felt that dreaded double pop - you know the one - one pop of the hook coming out, the other as it snags a pad stem. Then it started raining hard. Pressed on, soaked to the bone, but determined to get a cull or two. Moved out of the pad field, throwing to dead hydrilla with open water in between mats. Right as my lure got to an opening about 8' from the boat, a good one loaded on, and I yanked it into the boat. Now, how to take the pic? It was dumping, and everything, including my phone, was soaked. Somehow, I finally managed pics, but they are blurry. The fish was 20.5, and it put me at 99". I needed one more at 20.25 to get me to 100. The bite stayed good for about 30 more minutes, and I caught several more decent fish, including a slab speck, but none that would help. Finally packed it in and loaded the boat. Oh, in addition to the big fish I lost, there were other misses/wakes/blowups that could have also been helpful fish. I was getting a little bummed.
Went to the middle lake in the chain and cast a few off the bank - nothing. Then I tried the North lake for one last shot. On the third cast, once again, far away in heavy pads, a good one sucked down the Spro hb frog. Horsed it to the bank, and I knew it was the one I needed. 20.25, put me at 100" on the nose. Fished hard for over 7 hours, and was able to go home satisfied.
It was a weird month. I didn't fish as much, due to being out of town and dealing with Irma.  Had numerous skunks, but the days they did bite, I caught quite a few fish. Just not as many biguns.
I've never been so happy to get second place (assuming Rick doesn't read this and go back out, lol). In fact, I was almost relieved that the fish didn't measure 20.75 for a buzzer beater. I'm happy for Lou, and it was lots of fun being part of the closest 3 man finish I've seen in the FLBR.
Congrats again to everyone .

It was a heck of a month I'm officially done. I gave it my all. Upon Rick seeing Tress hit 100 he picked up his stuff and went fishing again so we're going to have to wait and see what happens tonight. Lol!!

These last minute heroics are better than watching Bassmaster Live! Congrats Rick on an awesome fish and month. Congrats to Lou as well for the win. It looks like Barry and Tres had a nice charge at the end! Nice work!

Fall bite appears to be on. Really looking to Kissimmee.

Thanks Tress and Flats.
Unfortunately heroics did not pay off. Same lake 0 bites. Had one blow up on my line half way from me an the frog and ran with my line. Never seen that happen. Frog went untouched though. Switched to a black vibe whe the sun set and not a bite.

Congrats on the win Lou!

Congrats on the comeback Tress to pass me and jump into second. Well done.

It was a good month. Looks like the fishing is getting back to normal down here. Too bad we have a limited playing field with the glades water being so overly high. But as long as my local playgrounds cooperate like they did towards the end of this month it should be competitive moving forward.

Rick... you had an unbelievable month.  ~c~ You caught the two biggest fish of the month which resulted in 2 HAWG Wall entries!!  That being said, you no longer are a Padawan. You have become a Jedi.  ~c~ Well done!!  :)

Thank you Tress.

Lou this is for your spectacular win, and come back from the difficult months you've had this year catching big fish. Not to mention you've dethroned Tress after over a year of him winning. So until the end of next month you are the champion!

Thank you Rick.

This was an unbelievable month!! We have had close finishes in the past, and this month ranks as one of the top best finishes we have seen here in quite some time. Between first and third place there was only 1.25" difference, and .25" between first and second. That's crazy!! Fortunately once the smoke settled I managed to squeak by for the win. It's been a while that I haven't experienced a win on here, and I will be lying to all of you if I said I wasn't excited for this one. I fished my butt off this month especially with the great start Okeechobee provided me earlier in the month. After that, I had to hustle bank fishing for the close. Knowing I was going head to head against Tress and his 11 month streak, made me fish harder. I knew Tress was not going to back down. Rick's surge over the last couple of days also was a concern, especially after the fish he caught today. You guys made this month very... very... challenging, but extremely fun and competitive.  Thank you!! Looking forward to October and the classic. Thanks again, and good luck to everyone next month... :)

We have several senko haters here who aren't as vocal about it as LMG lol.
So any of them will do.
